Terms of submission
Version 2026-10-13. These terms apply when you submit a song to Heart and Voice Project ("we", "us"). Please read them together with our Privacy notice.
In short: your song stays yours. You're giving us permission to play it and show its details on this site, you promise it's yours to share, and you promise to be honest about how AI was used. You can remove your song at any time.
1. Your song and your rights
- You confirm that you own the rights to the song (music, words and recording), or that the rights holders have given you permission to submit it here.
- You confirm that nothing in your submission — the audio, artwork, lyrics or sheet music — infringes anyone else's copyright or other rights.
- You keep ownership of your song. We do not take over any of your rights.
2. What you allow us to do
You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host your submission and, if it is published, to:
- stream the song, and show its artwork, title, credits, genre, story, verse references and AI disclosure, on this site and on its shareable song pages and link previews;
- display the lyrics next to the song, if you supply them;
- make any sheet music PDFs you upload (full score, lead sheet, chart) available for download to listeners who first give their name and verify their email address, and keep a record of who downloaded them;
- show your song in listening lists and email a listener a profile of it, including a link to the song, in our monthly emails.
The player on this site has its download option removed, but that is not a form of digital rights protection and we cannot guarantee that no one will copy a stream.
3. Being honest about AI
The purpose of this site is honesty about how songs are made. You agree to describe truthfully how much AI was used in the melody, the words and the production. If we find a disclosure to be materially untrue, we may correct it, ask you to change it, or remove the song.
4. Review and publishing
- Every song is reviewed by an administrator before it is published. We may accept or decline a song for any reason, including that it doesn't fit the collection — we look for God-honouring songs founded in the Bible.
- Changes you make to a published song's details, lyrics, artwork or sheet music are held for review before they appear.
- Submitting a song does not guarantee it will be published, and nothing on this site is a guarantee that a song will be included on any album, including a Songs For Church album. If you tick the box to be considered for an album, that is only a request to be considered.
- We don't pay for songs and don't charge you to submit. Listeners are not charged either.
5. Keeping or removing your song
If your song is accepted, we email you a personal link. Anyone with that link can edit or delete your song, so please keep it private. You can delete your song at any time using that link, and it will stop being shown on the site. We may also remove a song if it breaches these terms, or if someone raises a good-faith rights complaint, and we will tell you if we do.
6. Contact between you and listeners
About a week after a listener downloads your sheet music, we send them a short email encouraging them to send you a note of thanks. That email includes the email address you gave when you submitted. By submitting, you agree to this. If you'd rather not receive these messages, you can ask us to remove your song.
7. Our responsibilities
We run this site with care, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site, including any loss of files — please keep your own copies of everything you submit. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The version you agreed to when you submitted is recorded with your submission. The current version is always at this address.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
